about

--from the Walter Ehresman album "No Unifying Theme" (2004).

Ehresman relates: "This song was inspired by a wide variety of musical styles, old and new. The intro section imagines what it might sound like for a procession to be received at the gates of a Greek city/state in the ancient world. The middle section incorporates electric bouzouki and 8-string bass drones that move more toward Turkey and the Middle East. The last section is inspired by the musical traditions of India."
