Patient Zero (Ode to a Shrub)

about

--this was one of my 9-11 songs, focusing on Pres. Shrub. I must emphasize that this is NOT a "truther" song.....I don't believe at all that Bush, et.al. perpetrated 9-11. He just benefited hugely from it, and exploited it shamelessly. Or, I should say, the nefarious people who had their hands up his backside, using him as a sock puppet, exploited it.....

Patient Zero (ode to a Shrub)
(© 2002 Walter Ehresman)

Chosen from obscurity by agents of iniquity;
Purchasers of highest fame, by recognition of a name;
Their cynical assumption was proven in November.

When terror brought the buildings down, the spin machine came to your town;
Misdirection, shame and greed--bootstrapped on victims' misery;
Any lie is swallowed by a country wearing flag pins.

This episode has proved one thing: that money can buy anything;
If baseball had just let him play, we wouldn't smell this stench today;
The national amnesia will show up next November.
