Ehresman remembers the genesis of this track, "This song is about nothing in particular other than me (for one of the first times) just trying to come up with a character-driven scenario and then write a song about it......Also, it was the first time I tried to play piano with the band." He adds, "Toward the end of recording for the album, the band wanted me to write a song that was not as heavy, musically or lyrically."
