lyrics

The SCARAB Strut (a funk processional)
(© 2006 Walter Ehresman)

When things get dusty in her bust, we know what to do–we gotta put a little rhythm in our shoes;
And when the desert starts to bug, we’re cuttin’ a rug, as we pour our funky bug-juice just for you.
And when our ladies flip their hip, with a toss and a smile, we see the fellas on the playa come for miles;
You see us sport a fine brim, and displayin’ our trim, and hear the city say “those SCARABs strut in style.”

(chorus)
Feelin’ so fine, dear–all my friends are right here–even the desert’s out there singin’ our song;
And if you do the SCARAB Strut, you will bust out your rut, and you will feel like you could never do
it wrong.

Out on the streets of Black Rock City, we bump and we glide, so just hold on for a hell of a ride;
And we may get a little dirty, as we march on 7:30, so you better hold your business and your hide.
So when you hear that funky number, and your pelvis starts to grind, won’t you join us in our SCARAB struttin’ line;
‘Cause this party’s goin’ mobile, at 300,000 Scoville, and we know you’ll have a hell of a time.
