about

Back when the big, scary Millennium New Years Eve was approaching, I decided to have a party for it. To mock the sense of alarm that everyone had about the whole thing (eg. all the world's computer systems would crash at midnight), I wrapped the whole house, trees in the yard, etc. in pieces of bright red fabric (I spent a year buying remnants and seconds from the local fabric store.....those ladies looked at me like I was a Satanist or something.......). Then I made (cassette!) mixes for the whole party, playing my favorite music from the '20s until year 2000.

I also wanted to record my own version of Auld Lang Syne to play at midnight, and this is the result. The dancing Japanese Robot stuff kicks in about half-way through.
