.........and here it comes again (Parts I & II)

from Global Search Party by Walter Ehresman

about

This one is a wild piece of psychedelia, morphing from vintage to modern as the song progresses.

Ehresman remembers: "I wrote this one in December of 2018, but didn't get around to recording it for several months........The musical idea was for a two-part song, with the first being '60s psychedelia, morphing into a more modern psychedelic part two.......The lyrics constitute a protest song, inspired by the sad trends I see in the US from reading the news every day......half the country spiraling headlong into a pit of childish, snarling violence and bigotry."

"I have to say that this may be my favorite guitar tone that I've ever been able to capture in the studio in my 30+ years of doing it."

If Randy California, from Spirit, or Jimi Hendrix were still alive today, this might be the kind of thing they'd be doing.

lyrics

…..and here it comes again (Parts I & II)
(© 2018 Walter Ehresman)

Collective disassociation, baby—traumatize your mind;
Population regression—separate the pulp from the rind
(and here it comes again).

Real receptor implosion--prioritize you blind;
Herd behavior infection, baby—gonna scramble to your place in the line
(and here it comes again).

Authoritarian orgasm, baby—you feel it’s way past time;
Moral annihilation—initiate the hate that festers inside
(and here it comes again).
