Ehresman shares the deeply personal background for this song: "After experiencing the sudden, unexpected death of my girlfriend in October of 2006, I was numbed with sadness for about a year and a half and was wondering if I would ever feel 'normal' again, much less like I could ever try to be in a relationship again.......Then a very kind woman that I met at Burning Man treated me very gently, and we became friends before we slowly began a long-distance relationship.....This song was written in that moment where I could feel that the friendship had become something stronger."
